CiNETERAPIA: Jean-Luc Godard & John Cassavetes “PIERROT EL LOCO”
SUBCINE is a film screening producer that has joined Sala Garbo to present the series “CiNETERAPIA: Jean-Luc Godard & John Cassavetes” every Wednesday of February from 8:00 p.m., in single functions.
For Wednesday, February 20, will be screening “Pierrot le Fou” (1965) directed by Jean-Luc Godard (France). In the plot of this film, Ferdinand Griffon (Jean-Paul Belmondo), alias ‘Pierrot’, flees Paris with Marianne (Anna Karina), the nanny his wife hired. The couple goes to the south of France, but the trip becomes very dangerous when a band of gangsters is following them, close on the heels.
Jean-Luc Godard is known for his shot-reverse-shot sequences of characters looking at faces on sheets or posters, as well as frequent references to French literature and American Film Noir/B-Movies; he also popularized the jump-cut technique and ignoring the 180 degree line.
