Event Description:

Elizabeth Lépiz, owner and designer of Una Cabra Amarilla, will be the one to give the next “Basic Embroidery Workshop”. Here you will learn how to make the basic stitches of free embroidery or “surface embroidery”, in order to apply them in a DMC pattern project (creators of the leading embroidery threads). In addition to knowing all the necessary materials to embroider, tips and tricks to perform work and finalize them in a practical way.

For the first stage of the workshop will be given the basic concepts of free embroidery, materials that are used, differences between them and their correct uses. Subsequently taught how to prepare the frame with the fabric to start embroidering, practical advice and execution of basic embroidery stitches, as well as their uses and finishes.

During the second half, we will teach how to transfer a pattern to the fabric using different methods, advice and care when applying them. Finally the student will be guided according to a selected pattern to put into practice the stitches learned for the realization of the design that can be finished to your liking. To conclude it will be detailed how to finish the embroidery to give a delicate appearance if you want to leave it in the frame as an ornament.

Materials and snacks included. The requirements are: Interest in general, because you do not need previous experience; desire to work and share.

You also take home the booklet explaining the basic stitches: uses and tips, the embroidery frame, the fabric, the cutter, the needles to embroider, the threads, a pattern for final project and the carbon paper to transfer the pattern to embroider .
