Danzas del Mundo: Música a 2 Pianos y 4 Manos
Tanya Cordero and Leonardo Gell, teachers of the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica (UCR), propose in this recital a tour of several dances for piano to four hands and two pianos. Among them, you can hear from waltzes and a polka, to Latin American dances inspired by Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms. The repertoire will include music by Johannes Brahms, Igor Stravinski, Darius Milhaud, Ernesto Lecuona and Marvin Camacho.
Tanya Cordero is a talented pianist accompanying on this occasion with Leonardo Gell, a multi-talented Cuban-Costa Rican pianist, who since 2005 has developed an active career as a concert performer, performing at venues and festivals in America, Europe and Asia. The repertoire of Leonardo has more than 50 premieres, several national premieres, chamber music in recognized duos and trios, as well as various collaborations. Founder of the Trio Concertante (2007), recognized among the best Cuban ensembles, and Ensamble Eco (2018), his discography already has a dozen productions and some participation in soundtracks.
Appointment is for Monday, May 20, from 7:00 pm in the María Cullel room of the UCR School of Musical Arts. An event suitable for all audiences.
