Festival Charlie Chaplin
On Tuesday, January 28, at 7:00 pm in the Sala Garbo we invite you to enjoy the “Charles Chaplin Festival”, where the most emblematic films of the actor, humorist, composer, producer, screenwriter, director, writer will be shown and english editor.
“Chaplin” became very popular in silent films thanks to the many films he made with his character Charlot.
For this occasion, “Monsieur Verdoux” (1947), a black comedy written, directed and starred, as usual, by Chaplin will be screened. Without a doubt, it is Chaplin’s best film during the forties. The story is based on real events and has an idea of Orson Welles himself.
It is interesting to see Charles Chaplin in the middle of the sound cinema away from his character Charlot, but always keeping his genius even in the smallest detail. The film was nominated for the Oscar for best original screenplay of 1947.
The films will be screened in their original language, with subtitles in Spanish. For more information, visit the attached links.
