On Wednesday, September 25, at 7:00 pm in TEOR / ÉTica, we invite you to attend the “Inauguration – Intake”.
The exhibition “Ingesta”, curated by the Honduran artist Adam Vallecillo, presents the work of 19 artists from all over Central America. The project revolves around the intersections between art, food and politics.
Through photographs, videos, paintings, sculptures, drawing, serigraphs, performance and facilities, the exhibition explores the different meanings of food and the way in which it allows us to think about social reality in Central America and different aspects associated with economic, scientific issues, ethical and spiritual.
The presence of food has been significant in art history. From the pre-Columbian pieces, through the scenes of Renaissance banquets to contemporary art, many of the works of art produced from culinary references lead us to appreciate food sometimes as primary stimuli of the senses, others as stimuli of memory Cultural and ancestral.
