Noveno Festival de Blues de Costa Rica
The Costa Rica Blues Festival is a unique event of its kind in Latin America, which brings to Costa Rica the typical summer blues festival of the United States, events that are characterized by being outdoors, family and children-friendly, with a variety of meals and activities, such as contests, raffles, and, of course, with the presentation of large bands representing the genre of Blues.
The festival for ten years has been able to bring true blues legends to the country, among which are Smokin Joe & Bnois King, Guitar Shorty, Texas Johnny Brown, Diunna Greenleaf (winner of the WC Handy award as best blues singer of the year in the world), Annika Chambers (winner of the 2019 WC Handy Award as best Soul-Blues singer) and in the last edition, thanks to the help of sponsors, we had the presence of the most recognized Blues artist who has brought the festival: Walter Trout, artist who helped put the Blues festival in Costa Rica on the calendar of international festivals of this genre.
For this 2020 edition, Joe Louis Walker, J.C. Smith, Christ Rues – Eve Monsees – Micke Buck, David Tanganelli, Leo J, The Craig Tatcher Band, The Sparky Parker Band, Donnie Walsh “Mr. Downchild ”and the Leatherbacks, Gray Gregson, Smokin Mo & Blues Devils, The Neotics Funk & Soul, Avenue Blues, Soul Kitchen and The Midnights.
