CEDES Don Bosco

Venue Description: Saint John Bosco (1815-1888) developed a very particular educational method in his native Italy, he sought human growth and the faith of the less fortunate youth, while teaching them a trade, so that with this knowledge could open space in the society of his time. Today, the educational work of Don Bosco is kept alive by the Salesians of Don Bosco, present in 134 countries around the world.
The Salesians owe their name to Saint Francis de Sales, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, whom Don Bosco intended to imitate, especially in relation to sweetness and charity.

In 2010 we received the Relics of San Juan Bosco in Costa Rica, specifically from July 20 to 23. The activity aroused popular enthusiasm wherever the ballot box was, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels were overcrowded by the large number of faithful wishing to venerate the "Father, Teacher and Friend of the young."

In CEDES Don Bosco we had the joy of having the relics for a whole night, in which an evening full of fervor was held. The excitement of having our Saint so close was felt between our own and strangers, with a full gym, the party passed between enthusiasm and admiration, Don Bosco staying in each heart.

In 2015 we celebrate 200 years of his birth, and our educational community relives this moment, on August 16, 2015 is a historic moment and a unique occasion to celebrate and thank God for all the fruits that the educational work of Don Bosco has given in Costa Rica and in the world.
Mission

We are an Educational-Pastoral Community committed to a comprehensive, inclusive and innovative education of children and young people, preferably those with fewer opportunities.
